Beautiful article! And so many of these questions I myself have as a designer. Who can answer them? No one. This uncharted territory of Design as Art vs Design as Design is so new the only rules we have are the tried and true age old strict graphic design rules. And certainly these rules cannot apply to design as art, because design as art breaks those rules, and almost never abides by them. And who is to say that design as design isn’t beautiful enough to be considered as art as well? The design world is changing so much and I don’t think there should be a “side” we have to end up on.
